Expected Bumper Production of Potato in Basar
Basar, 2nd December,2015:
ICAR, KVK-West Siang, Basar conducted a training programme in Regi village of NICRA-TDC project site on 30th November’2015 to train the farmers for timely accurate identification of pest & diseases on their potatoes cultivation & proper management practices to avoid crop loss.
The training programme was conducted under NICRA-TDC project and participated all Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) namely Dr. K. Suraj Singh, Mrs. Deepa Lal, Mrs. Rita Nongthombam and Mr. Debashis Datta and all SMS dealt different aspects related to potato production and protection, package of practices, seed potato storage techniques and on community farming. That training made the farmers acquaint with different symptomology of incidence of different pest & diseases. At the end of that training, KVK-West Siang distributed insecticides, fungicides & antibiotics to the farmers having any infection of pest & diseases in their crop field diagnosed by the experts on that visit. In most of the field luxuriant healthy crop growth was witnessed & expressed hope for a bumper production of potato from these areas.
